TALOPORNO (USA/GER) is a dynamic live electro-disco-rock collective made up of five musicians and a live VJ. Instrumentation includes female and male lead vocals, the trombone, synthesizers, guitars, bass, acoustic and electronic drums and assorted percussion.
ITALOPORNO was founded in 2006 in Berlin. They have played nearly 100 live shows throughout Europe and the UK. The members of the band prefer to forswear their names in favor of their onstage superhero pseudonyms:
The Minky - vocals, synthesizer, percussion, trombone
The Advocat - guitar, bass, vocals, backing vocals
The Spleen - guitar, bass, synthesizer
The Queen - synthesizer
The Baron - acoustic/electronic drums, percussion, backing vocals

ITALOPORNO's mission is to drag late-70's HI-NRG disco fever back into the club - kicking and screaming if need be - in the form of an energetic live band. Husky, soulful vocals and crispy synth sounds sing catchy pop melodies over funky guitars, vainglorious horn riffs, overdrive bass lines and relentless disco beats.
These kids have no fear of glam - they chuck kilos of glitter (audience be warned: mind your drink and your cleavage!), don sizzling hot pants and color it up with Bowie-style makeup art.
On the other side of the coin, ITALOPORNO's poetic lyrics and subtle, self-reflexive musical motifs are tailored to tease even the intellectual hedonist and ensure that this band's appeal doesn't end when the night is over.
ITALOPORNO's latest single, "The Fall", a wistful disco dazzler, was released over Berlin label PALE MUSIC INT. in December 2009.

Their upcoming single, "Stardust" is a track of many faces, with the lips of a love song, the hips of a dancefloor burner and the brains and the balls of an amazing spacesploitation spectacular. It¥s released this summer.

The band is currently recording their debut album to be released in autum/winter 2010.

ITALOPORNOs erklärte Mission ist es das Discofieber der späten 1970er Jahre zurück in die Clubs zu tragen. Das gewählte Medium ist eine energische Liveband, die sich springend oder lauthals schreiend verausgabt. Die bissig soulige Stimme der Sängerin und knackige Synthesizer kredenzen hierbei eingängige Popmeldodien über funkigen Gitarren, protzigen Posaunenriffs, bombastischen Bassläufen und einem sprengenden Discobeat.

ITALOPORNO forciert das zeitgenössische Discofieber und zeigt dabei keine Furcht vor Glam: Sie verpulvern kiloweise Glitter - Dringende Warnung ans Publikum: Schützt eure Drinks und Körperöffnungen! Dazu zeigen sie schnittige, aufreizende Hotpants und scheuen auch vor Altmeister Bowie's Schminkkunst nicht zurück.

Darüber hinaus kommt ITALOPORNO mit poetischen Texten und eigensinnigen Motiven daher. Diese sind maßgeschneidert um sich auch im Kopf des letzten intellektuellen Hedonisten einzunisten. So hallt ihr Bandappeal über das unvermeidliche nächste Morgengrauen hinaus.
ITALOPORNOs aktuelle Single "The Fall", ein elegischer Discoknaller, wurde im Winter 2010 auf dem Berliner Label PALE MUSIC INT. veröffentlicht.

Im Sommer 2010 erscheint ihre nächste Single "Stardust". Sie offenbart viele Reize: Die Lippen eines Liebesliedes, den Hüften eines Dancefloorkrachers und das Gemächt eines umwerfenden Spacesploitation-Spektakels.

Momentan arbeitet die Band im Studio an ihrem Debut Album, das im späten Herbst 2010 veröffentlicht wird.
